Authorities have identified Kaci Davidson, 21, as the pedestrian killed in an early morning crash on Highland Road in Baton Rouge on Thursday.

The St. George Fire Department reported that emergency crews responded to the scene at Highland Road and Petroleum Drive around 1:45 a.m., where two pedestrians had been struck. Davidson was pronounced dead at the scene. The second individual, whose identity has not been released, was transported to a local hospital with moderate injuries, officials said.

According to Louisiana State Police, the driver involved in the crash remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities have confirmed that no charges will be filed against the driver at this time.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
